Ordo for April

As usual, all page references are to the Farnborugh Abbey edition of the Monastic Diurnal, and follow the 1962(3) rubrics.  Those using older versions of the Office should note that there are some minor differences to the Office over the Sacred Triduum -see the series on New Liturgical Movement last year for details.

The Office during the Triduum differs from the normal office in many important respects, so please do read through the rubrics in advance, and pay close attention. The Benedictine and Roman rites are virtually identical throughout the Triduum, so if you have the chance to attend Tenebrae in the Roman Rite, do! Note also that:

 Which Hours are said depends on which Holy Week services you attend in several cases (noted below);

 the Gloria Patri at the end of the psalms is omitted until Easter Sunday;

 most of the introductory rites for each hour are omitted.

Have a happy and Holy Easter!
